BMA Colorado Honors Two for Outstanding Work
Cook, Kloser Recognized for Excellence in the field of Business-to-Business Marketing

Denver, Colo. — Apr 30, 2010 — Denver, Colo. — Apr 30, 2010 — The Colorado chapter of the Business Marketing Association (BMA) awarded Christine Cook, with the 2010 Communicator of the Year Award and Teresa Kloser with the President’s Award. "Christine and Teresa have contributed a great deal, not only to BMA Colorado, but to our business-to-business marketing profession as a whole.  We're pleased to recognize both of them for their accomplishments," said Marilee Yorchak, CAE and executive director of Colorado BMA.

Communicator of the Year

Christine CookThe Communicator of the Year Award recognizes outstanding contributions to the field of business-to-business communications, as well as service to BMA Colorado.  Award recipients are leaders and ambassadors who have supported business-to-business marketing education via writing, speaking and teaching, and expanded the success of BMA Colorado and business-to-business communications within the community at large. Past recipients of the Communicator of the Year Award have the honor of choosing the new recipient.

Christine Cook, PRC, is the president of INGATHER RESEARCH, the industry first “reality” research facility. Christine is known for being a forward thinking entrepreneur and industry trend setter in the marketing and marketing research communities.  

Prior to INGATHER RESEARCH, Christine was most recently the Executive in Charge of a full-service custom market research company and wholly owned subsidiary of Atlanta-based Cox Broadcasting, Inc.  Christine worked for Cox for 10 years until buying the company's Denver operations in 2001.

Christine was co-chair of BMA Colorado’s B2BSeen Party & Auction, where proceeds benefited BMA as well as several homeless organizations, including the Denver Rescue Mission, COMPA and the ACT Foodbank.  She has also served on the BMA Gold Key and Student Resume Review committees.

Christine is past President of the Colorado Chapter of the American Marketing Association (AMA) and past President of the SW Marketing Research Association (MRA).  She is also one of the founders of Summertoasts, a highly popular Denver marketing networking event that's now entering its eighth year. Christine and her team at INGATHER are the proud recipients of a CEBA Award (Colorado Ethics in Business Award). Watch video below.

President's Award

Teresa KloserThe President’s Award honors a BMA Colorado member who has demonstrated exemplary service to BMA Colorado in the past year.  The individual must show the highest degree of integrity and professionalism, and has gone beyond the call of duty by devoting a substantial amount of time and expertise and contributing to BMA Colorado’s success. The president and the executive director of BMA Colorado choose recipients of the award.

Teresa Kloser joined the Business Marketing Association (BMA) in 2003 and was elected to the Colorado Chapter Board of Directors in 2008. As Vice President of Member Services, Teresa and her team have helped the Colorado chapter maintain its ranking as the second largest chapter in the U.S. During a tough economic environment, the Colorado chapter has grown its membership base, both professionals and students, while retaining many loyal members. Additionally, Teresa’s team has increased the reach of CareerLink and launched a Young Professionals group. Sharing the value of BMA with its membership and with the Colorado community at large is a professionally and personally rewarding experience for Teresa.

Teresa started her career as a graphic designer in the non-profit sector working in higher education and art institutions. In 2001, Teresa moved from a creative role into marketing management as Executive Director of Global Marketing Communications for TeleTech Holdings, Inc.  In 2004, Teresa joined Jabber, Inc., a privately held software start-up that was subsequently acquired by Cisco Systems, Inc., the world’s leading network provider. In November 2008, she joined the Market Creation Group, a business-to-business, high-tech marketing agency.  Presently, Teresa leads the marketing team at EffectiveUI.
